SUCCESS! [THINK — RISE — DEVELOP]

HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN STUDIES/ACADEMICS

pic made from “Google slides” template

Some tips for your studies/academics, Things to care about……

  1. Take notes parallelly with class, listen to every class carefully, revisit it after the class time, every day. Make sure you need not read again(theoretical concepts), while preparing for quiz and end semester exams, and you just need to spend more time on practicing/solving problems. Follow this not only first week, but for entire semester. Listen to class using headphones.
  2. Follow weekend studies scheme.

Friday night to Saturday afternoon — subject revision,

Saturday afternoon — Sunday afternoon — practice problems,

Saturday afternoon to total Sunday — Hobbies + Extra curricular activities.

3. “Dream big and aim high” — a wise man said. One has to achieve their goals and ambitions. A goal is the only thing which makes our life interesting.

4. Follow the campus and other required social media pages and make connections with all your friends. Frequently talk with your classmates and some better learners.(useful for studies doubts discussion). This will help in future, by sharing important information like company job/internship application links. Also, you will come across all your classmates regarding their lifestyle, activities and success trails.

5. Prioritize your events, follow Eisenhower’s matrix

6. If you are interested in coding, take a popular programming language, learn-practice-excel it. Improve your proficiency with the help of coding contests, internships.

7. Practice is more important, so rather than wasting more time on reading the boring theory, [Note: doesn’t mean theory is not important]. Conceptual knowledge is also important. Do practice more problems of every subject. Feeling bored while reading theory? Then try reading outside your mind in low voice and in other language accents[for instance: US, UK style], read it like a stage speaker, or just like you are giving presentation and teaching some one.

8. If you feel any activity boring, immediately change it to another one, same applies for subjects in your studies. To get rid of boring routine cycle, do those routine things in new style, which should not disturb your success.

9. Sleep early, wake up early(rise). Don't be awake till late night using phone/TV/Laptop or other gadgets for entertainment purposes, better use that time for rest, or do some interesting things like hobby activities.

10. Early morning exercise is the best thing which can make your day beautiful. Ways to relieve from *stress, tension , anxiety, depression, racing heart, fatigue* etc.…..

  • Start developing a habit of playing outdoor games(for ex: badminton).
  • Start exercising and do yoga which also improves health.
  • Switch off/ put aside all your devices and be calm.
  • Do work according to planned schedule & leave a topic after it gets ended.

11. Don't repeat the mistakes that were been done before. If problem arrives, try to solve it, put an end to it using critical thinking. Think out of the box, use engineering skills and critical thinking to solve all the problems. Use reverse technique to know all the causes for a problem, and try to rectify it.

Follow the methods:

12. Complete your prep 1 week before the exams, so that you get some time to revise and practice. Don’t wait for the last moment. Complete the assignments and tasks way before the submission deadline. Efficiency increases as the deadline approaches, but it is decreasing at the time of deadline either you complete the task or feeling anxiety/stress that reduces your work ability. So, be calm at that peak time.

13. Keep on participating in the campus student teams/club events. Be regular so that you become the main member of that club, being in a club gives you social, managerial, communication skills, team work etc.….

14. Check all mails at least 3 times a day, early morning, afternoon and evening, follow your interests, events. Make your own hobbies list, keep on doing the activities and develop them. Once you get interested in it, no one can stop you.

15. SELF-MOTIVATION:

Just do what ever you want with your interest in it, so love your work. Self motivation is important. External motivation stays for a little time. Be it the studies, gaming, movies, or hobby development etc.. but do not get addicted for the bad things. Ok now restart your success journey , and don’t stop till you get it.

Take a notes/list of usual works, for instance:

A. Skills to learn, Semester Studies, Research in your core areas, Job trails/preparation, Competitive exams

B. Extra-Curricular Activities (Hobbies, Interests)

16. Consistency in your work is very important, “NEVER BREAK IT”
